Tarakai Family and the IDPs

Tarakai family is making history by supporting around 15000 internally displaced people (IDPs) from Buner and other adjacent troubled areas. This noble family from Swabi has opened their hearts for the grief stricken people from the war zone area. Tarakais are providing facilities that are not even available in the government camps. They are treating these people with love, care and most importantly with respect.

The IDPs are still coming in large numbers and they are being accommodated without any formalities. So far the family has setup 7 camps in Swabi to accommodate them. In addition to these camps a number of houses are taken on rent and given to the IDPs.

Tarakai family did not ask for any monitory help from anyone. They started it off on their own and they are continuing to do so. They provide three meals a day, three tea times a day and cold drinking water to their guests. Doctors, nurses and ambulances are also available around the clock. Each camp is provided with electric fan to give relief from the summer heat.

The Tarakai family members are personally managing the operations of all these camp and trying their best to solve all the problems of their guests. They personally meet with the IDPs and listen to their problems. They are not looking for any media coverage, they are not looking for any fame and they are not looking for government funding. They are not even willing to share how much they have spent so far on this noble cause.

Takakai family I salute you. You have shown us what humanity and compassion is. Your unmatched deed has inspired us who sit in our comfortable houses and only talk about helping others. We the lazy people either never even get a chance to donate a single rupee or with great pride donate a small amount of money and think that our job is done. We are happy that there are people like you in Pakistan.

Tarakai family is fulfilling its obligation amicably but what about all of us? Have we made any contribution? Please check out the following link and see how you can help.

History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.

Please stand up now and be counted.
